Former year 13 student Hannah Ricalton is to receive an award for her recent performance in the Advanced Chemistry examination by The Salters’ Institute. Hannah has been invited to the Annual Salters’ Institute award ceremony in December to receive the award for attaining one of the highest marks in the Chemistry examination; she will also receive a cheque for £150 and a certificate of her achievement.
The Salters’ Institute has a programme of awards and prizes to recognise excellence in Science with awards that recognise the achievements of students, both school and undergraduate, technicians and teachers in chemistry and chemical engineering.
Hannah, who gained an A* in Chemistry, is currently studying Chemistry at The University of Manchester. Our Head Of Chemistry, Dr Stuart Kemp, said “Hannah is one of the best Chemistry students the department has ever taught. Her abilities in this subject will lead her to a PhD and maybe even a lecturer. Hannah is a credit to her family and we all loved teaching her.”
We were delighted to hear Hannah has been recognised for her hard work and dedication and we wish her well in her future studies and career.
